This is the panel oil painters would create if they had the time and the equipment.

Double Oil Primed Claessens Belgian Linen mounted to the Natural Fiber Panel creates the perfect environment for oil paint. With an archival hardboard substrate underneath, there is no danger of the paint film flexing and cracking.

Panels are available in 3/8" thickness with keyholes for use with Easel Backs and 1/4" with a solid back.

Easel Back — The solid maple easel interlocks snugly and effortlessly into the keyhole slot on the back of the 3/8" Art Board Panels. They allow panels to stand securely and freely on any flat surface. Check the position of the slot before painting. Each easel back measures 3" × 4-1/2" × 3/4".

I usually paint on linen I stretch myself that is oil primed. Before this, I had yet to find any board product wtih linen that I liked and was oil primed. Decided to give this a whirl. Surprisingly, I really like this!!! Note that the linen is extremely smooth. This is definitely a keeper for smaller pieces and especially for doing plein aire. And, the board is made so well and well sealed, I don't think I'll worry about these warping any time soon, unlike some other board products.

I use this as a surface for older renaissance techniques that involve building up many layers of glaze on a tinted ground. The quality, performance, and finish (the reverse side is a smooth poly-sealed wood panel) keep me coming back to blick every time. Please continue carrying this item at your great low price!
