Arches 88 for Collographs
By David Four Feathers
from Murrieta, California
Arches 88 has a great solubility for creating a colograph ( embossing). When soaked, registered over the plate and pressed, it has a great fiber stretchability that takes up to a three layer embossing. Once dried, the impressions are sharp and well defined for a beautiful project!!!

I do not do silk screening, means I do not know how this paper works for that medium. I use it for water based monotype printing. It is a delicate paper that you dip in water, let it drain and than blot before dropping on the plate. I use pleximglass that I paint on with water colors. When I use this paper I always seem to,get an excellent print. .

Great paper for monotypes
By Anthony Cerbins
from Austin, TX
I have found this to be the perfect paper for making monotypes (or any printmaking technique). The lack of sizing is the key. The paper absorbs the ink (Akua Intaglio in my case) much better than any other paper I've tried. I use a large, custom-cut piece of glass to make my prints and then transfer onto paper using a pin roller (also purchased from Dick Blick), and I love the way this paper performs. I also prefer to buy this paper from Dick Blick versus an art store because it shows up in flawless condition, no wrinkles or anything, perfectly packed. You don't have to worry about getting a bent corner.

Very good for drawing
from San Diego, CA
I've been looking for a paper that takes a charcoal pencil well especially when using the side of the pencil to get soft gradations of tone. This paper is the best I've found. It has very little texture, soft, and doesn't fall apart when erasing. If you're used to drawing on newsprint this is a good archival alternative.
