Comments about Amsterdam Standard Series Acrylics:
I am a student artist and these are the only acrylics I will work with. I compared it to other acrylics such as utretcht, liquitex, and cheap craft paints. The cheap craft paints are chalky and have no pigment, the utretcht are too expensive and small (especially for larger paintings) and dry incredibly fast, the liquitex look very shiny and plastic when they dry. The Amsterdam paints don't dry as fast, don't look too plastic or shiny, but also are not matte, and have good pigment load for the price. Under-rated in my opinion, better than liquitex and cheaper.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great acrylic paint for the money. Good opacity and viscosity.
Found Amsterdam here

I build custom birdhouses for upscale birds. The bird houses are donated for local fund raisers. The colors have to be eye-catching to "grab" potential auction bidders or raffle ticket buyers. I started with Amsterdam paints about 8 years ago and liked the intense colors. Then we could not find Amsterdam in our local retail outlets. We tried other brands, but other brands are not as brilliant. Found Amsterdam at Blick and am happy again.

I love these paints

I strictly paint with acrylic paint and these work great for the price. I use over 50 different colors in standard mostly and only a handful in expert. I have had some tubes for 6 plus years and they still are ok to use. Highly recommend them.

This paint is easily watered down for translucent layering. You can easily mix colors where someacrylics get goopy or the color quality becomes awful. These layer without becoming plastc as well. The shipping came very quickly and the price was cheaper than anywhere I have found.

While the Standard series may not be as good as the Expert Series, it is a quality product compared to other acrylics. I wish the Amsterdam paints were all Expert Series.
