Meh. Hit and miss.
Comments about Amsterdam Acrylic Markers:
When the paint flows it is splotchy not fluid. I use the nib to push the paint around. The acrylic is opaque and doesn't color shift much that is the fantastic part. It's just so hard to get the markers To work and they so little paint in them. I use liquitex and Montana and the liquitex markers have worked every time with a nice fluid flow. I like Amsterdam acrylic paint and will work my way through the markers I bought because I have a couple dozen. The first one I bought was a dream so I bought more and all the others have been horrific. Even nearly ruining artworks.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is my first painting with the markers. Judge for yourself.

Aside from the price being so high, I find these markers to be the highest quality and most opaque. They are easy to work with and compact. The marker is see through, which is helpful because you know when it's shaken and mixed completely, before using it. I used mostly ZIG Woodcraft and would switch to these in a heartbeat if they weren't so pricy.

I purchased all of the sets, and like them very much. Regular price is OK, but Blick had a 20% off sale with free shipping, so I made out great.I plan on purchasing the individual colors during the next sale.

Amsterdam markers, not my favorite
By Amanda Yeager
from Arlington, TX
I was so excited to try these markers! I've been using Montana brand, which I like okay, but the nibs are a bit scratchy and some don't write well. Anyway, I was most happy about the large color selection of the Amsterdam. It was hard to choose. I ended up buying 20 different colors. I use markers on black surfaces, paper, canvas covered in chalkboard paints and chalkboards. I found these to dry gummy on the canvas and chalkboard and the paint rubs off really easily. Erasing chalk marks and moving my hand across the board was a disaster. It writes much better on the paper (foam board). You have to use two to three coats for evenness. So I will use these for my paper projects, but that is all. I'm on the fence whether I will reorder this product. I gave this an average rating of 3 stars because I don't want to totally blast these if there is a medium they work really great on that I don't use.
Pigment and tip not as strong as Liquitex.

So much fun!

This is the first time I've had/used paint markers and I love them! Such fun to play with, drawing fine lines easily, outlining letters, etc. I hope to expand my set soon!

I had the opportunity to try the new, Amsterdam Acrylic Markers at a vendor show in Seattle, WA. USA. It was many months before they were scheduled to be available in the United States. The location where I tried them chooses not to carry the product. An email to the manufactures was all it took to find that Dick Blick was going to carry them, Yeah! I have been using the Amsterdam Acrylic Markers now for a little while and they are as good as the prototypes I had tried. I have the 2 & 4 mm markers and after you get the knack of using them you will find them very easy to use and will love the results, great lines and dries true to colour. One important point, read the operating directions, it will speed the learning curve. Great product!

I want to order more
I used this markers to paint on plastic! And it worked really nice. I wanted to create thin precise lines. It was hard to achieve it with paints and regular brush. But this markers made the process quiet easy and fast. Also I wanted to use this markers to create lines with different intensity of color. I thought that I can achieve it by applying different amounts of layers. But it didn't work this way. First application of this marker creates intense color which doesn't get much different/stronger with repetitive applications.
