This was my first time purchasing the ampersand scratchbords and they were awesome! The only thing is they seemed to be more vulnerable to the oil on your skin than other scrathboards I have used in the past. but overall a good price for the product and great results!

I use the Ampersand scratchboard to produce wildlife art. It is a pleasure to work with as it is solid and has a beautiful matt finish which gives the final product a quality value. You must be careful not to put your fingers on it, so I wear a glove when working with it. Body oils and handcream can add smears and then the final protective varnish I use does not adhere evenly. As long as you are very careful the product is excellent.

I've been using Ampersand Scratchbord for professional artwork (and a fun change from my oil paintings). I really, really wish Scratchbord came in more sizes - at least as many as Claybord, including 1:2 aspect ratios (eg, 6x12). It would be even better if it came in cradled versions. I love the product and want to expand the ways in which I use it and present it.
