This is a great product. These panels are perfect substrates for use with encaustic paint, but I think they would work well for any medium that requires a rigid substrate. I use them for my own encaustic paintings and in my encaustic workshops.
The birch plywood surface is of high quality. I like the weight of the panels, sturdy but not so heavy. The panels arrived in excellent condition and within three days of placing the order. I highly recommend them for use with most any medium requiring a rigid surface. I have only used the ones with 1 5/8 inch cradles but they offer the deeper cradle as well.

Have used these panels for the past year and was thrilled to find a panel much cheaper than the competition. However, in preparing for my last show, I had major problems with warped panels and had to brace a few panels myself and throw away one painting, as well as throw out a few half finished pieces. Dickblick.com was very helpful, even replacing a panel, but after 4 warped/damaged panels out of 18 total panels, I would strongly suggest not using these panels unless it is for personal or craft uses. In fact, the replacement panel I was sent had a spot where the top panel was separating from the side edges.

The 1/8" top panel does not seem to be sufficient, and the panels are not even braced up to the 20x24 size. the product description says " these panels won't flex, stretch, or warp", which is not true. I appreciate the customer service from Blick, they do a great job, but clarification should be made about the appropriate uses for these panels, which would probably not include fine art applications. I have notified the customer care center of the problem before I made this post.
