These panels are great, very little sanding and actually could be painted on both sides. You don't need to frame and can be displayed anywhere.

Not a bad product for the price but beware that there is a slight bevel to the top edge. This makes it hard to protect the sides with tape. This is probably not a problem if you intend to frame the panels but if you want to use them unframed this can cause a ragged edge if you are not careful. Ampersand's panels are much better.

I just can't get enough of this product. Great value, and very consistent in its variety of sizes and cradle edges. As widely mentioned, these panels are a mixed media artists dream substrate! As someone who's looking for more than canvas or linen, these are great panels to explore your own gessoed foundations. Or you may just sand with a fine grit and work away! Also, it's nice to know I'm investing in a high-quality produce made and manufactured here in the US!

I purchased 3 panels and am stenciling fun quotes on each of them as Christmas gifts. Great product and great price. Because the wood is untreated, you need to put a coat of Gesso on first, then the paint goes on easily. I thought they'd be sanded better, but in the end, like that it's slightly coarse. I think you could take a fine grit sanding block and finish it nicely though.

As an encaustic artist, I use a lot of different panels. These are some of the best hard wood panels I've come across. They are consistent in size, the texture is wonderful, I have never needed to sand or even smooth them. The wood is high quality. I would highly recommend these boards to others.
