Amaco Potter’s Choice glazes achieve the effects of Cone 10 reduction without the need for a reduction gas kiln or firing to high temperatures. These lead-free glazes are made to fire at Cone 5-6 (2205°F–2269°F, 1207°C–1243°C), in an oxidation kiln.
Glazes are available in pint liquid, gallon liquid, or 25 lb dry packages. The 25 lb dry dipping glazes are packaged in 5 gallon buckets for easy pouring. Only stirring is necessary before application. For spraying and dipping, glazes may be thinned with water. See manufacturer's instructions for spray application. PC-4 is not dinnerware safe.
For best results, follow these special application instructions for the following PC series glazes.
Note — Please see Resources tab for more layering and application techniques.
Blue Rutile needs to be applied heavily. Apply at least four coats. It will flow just a little and create beautiful effects.
Shino needs to be applied irregularly. Apply two irregular coats. Once you have used it a while you will see the effects you can get by varying the application.
Salt Buff has to be applied on the thin side. No more than two irregular coats are needed to get the random effect of salt glazing.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

We use these glazes for beginner potters and use the brush on ready to use pints. The results are very professional looking. Great for layering colors and easy for inexperienced potters to use. Very nice color combinations

Consistently Beautiful Results
By Shelly the Potter
from Frazier Park, CA
I have been using Amaco Potter's Choice glazes for the past year. They are consistently beautiful and can be layered for amazing and unique results. From the jar, these glazes must be brushed on with at least 3 or more coats to achieve the best result but Amaco also has a product which can be mixed in to make them "dippable".

Take the guess work out of glazes
from Hattiesburg, Mississippi
As a beginning pottery instructor, though I had the educational credits and creative experience, I honestly had not ordered supplies for a classroom. The team on the phone was helpful answering my questions and we stretched our budget a long way. The glazes do what the are supposed to do and are a great value.
