Amaco's Paragona Glass Artist Palette is intended to rest on a table surface rather than be held. It's excellent for mixing large areas of color. The Paragona palette is perfectly smooth, easy on brushes, and non-porous. It cleans up with very little effort.
Printmakers love Paragona for rolling printing ink and mono-printing. Use it also as a workspace for clay and crafts.
Paragona is made of strong, 100% tempered safety glass with smoothly beveled, comfortable edges. It has a white vinyl backing.
Dimensions are 11" W × 14" L × 1/8" thick (28 cm × 35.5 cm × 3 mm).

Comments about Amaco Paragona Glass Artist Palette:
I needed a surface to roll ink for my linocuts, so I ordered the rectangular palette. It's perfect for that, has a smooth surface the glass has a nice solid feel, it would be difficult to break it, other than dropping it. I also appreciate I didn't pay a large amount in shipping as it's heavy.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This oval glass palette is a great size and seems to be made from fairly sturdy glass. Having the white backing is very helpful in mixing paints and both sides clean up beautifully. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a glass palette.

I'm using this for my Lino printing. It's the perfect size. I was using a piece of glass with sharp edges. Now I don't have to worry about getting cut, and cleaning the ink off after I'm finished is very simple.
has scratches after only a few hours use

Looks and feels like nice palette but already has light scratches after just a couple hours usage. So far does not affect painting, but will wait to see how many more scratches appear. Also i use palette painting knives so I'm scraping it more than if using brushes.

Overall good product. It was just a little small. I wish they had bigger sizes. Very easy to clean. I used it to roll out ink for printmaking.

After using disposable paper palettes for years, this is a great solution to my "forever drying out"paint problem. The white undercoating has saved me from the necessity of placing it on a neutral surface for true color mixing. Really love it. Would love it even more if it were a couple of inches longer to fill up my palette box.

Glass palette good test of Blick
from Portland, Oregon
Glass breaks. Glass needs smooth edges. Glass needs a perfect surface. Glass holds my acrylic, my gel and other media, and is useful in flattening and acting as a support and as a jig for making up and laying out designs, morticing images, etc. Blick's glass palette arrived in perfect condition, 4 days after I ordered online, and even with shipping was $3 to $25 cheaper than the glass palettes sold in retail stores in Portland, even Blick's retail store. End of retailing? I dunno. That's the only problem I have -- I like bricks-n-mortar stores, but it's so much easier and cheaper to buy online.
