Supplied in moist form, this ready-to-use clay can be shaped by hand or thrown on a wheel. Decorate with opaque tempera if desired.

Note — This clay is AP non-toxic when moist but carries a health warning when it is in dry form.

Great Air-Dry Clay

We've used this clay for a Girl Scout activity for years. It's easy to work with, cuts with a wire, leftover can be kept in refrigerator or even frozen until you need it and it dries nicely. If you are making a flat object, you will need to keep an eye on it as it dries as the edges will curl up slightly.

I used air drying clay for the first time. The product was ideal for the circumstances. I taught a clay weekend retreat in the mountains for ten people. The results were amazing and everyone was ready to do more. As an art teacher, the outcome was as good as it could be.

As I start spinning pottery again after 30+ years, I find the clay to be very usable. I like the fact that it is self hardening since I do not have the availablity of a kiln. It would be nice if each box had an informational sheet, explaining what can and can not be done with the clay.....e.g. baked in an oven, the specific glazes that would work with the clay, etc. Not a big deal however.

It's really easy to work with, but the package could use some improvement, since is a humid product, if air gets in, the clay could get a little mold, you can scrape it off and it's all good tho.
