For a rustic look.
By Liz the ARt Teacher
I ordered the Elephant Hide and Dove Tail for more neutral looks on ceramics. The matt finish gives each piece a rustic earthy look. Very Stylish.
Shine or no shine
Was creating a commission piece that need to be glazed but didn't want it so shiny. Located this online and found Blicks price to be the most competitive. Was pleased with the end result.

Great Matte Glazes
from TRF MN
I used these to glaze a set of birds that I sculpted from earthenware low fire white clay. I made the birds from the Amaco tutorial and they came out really nice. I fired to cone 05 on 05 fired bisque, my standby cone I use for everything I fire, and the glaze left a smooth finish with a nice opaque coverage. Love the matte finish. Reminds me of glazes used on pottery from the Arts and Crafts Movement. I mixed the red and yellow to make orange. Nice!
Worked as described. Very nice but it did bobble in a couple small places, the kiln may have been at 04 instead of 05? or one of the million other causes ;)
