This kiln is excellent for metal enameling, glaze testing, firing small pottery pieces, or glass forming and decoration. Its small size and its durability make it ideal for school or studio use. Strong steel construction is backed with special block-type insulation to seal in the heat and prevent excessive heat radiation.
The firing chamber measures 4"W × 6-5/8"D × 4-1/2"H (10 cm × 17 cm × 11 cm). The firing chamber is 120 cubic inches and 6½" (16 cm) deep. The chamber's depth is greater than its width to permit the placement of pieces well away from the kiln doors for even heating. This kiln can reach 2000°F (1093°C). External dimensions are 9-1/4"W × 13-1/2"D × 13-1/2"H (23 cm × 35 cm × 35 cm). Requries 110-120V. It weighs
The front and back frames are made from 14-gauge steel, coupled with 18-gauge shells of cold roll sheet metal. A lift-up door makes the kiln easy to load, and a peephole aids viewing of pieces during firing.
The Amaco MK-4 includes a two-year warranty.
Pyrometer Kit — This kit includes a pyrometer, a thermocouple, and 2 ft of insulated thermocouple wire. These components are used to identify the kiln firing chamber temperature. The pyrometer has a dial with markings every 50° between 0° and 2500°F, and 0° and 1290°C. The thermocouple wire connects the pyrometer to the thermocouple, and has a 6" probe that fits into the kiln's peephole to detect the kiln temperature.
Electrical Warning — All electrical products have U.S. standard plugs and voltage. Due to damage that can occur when using incompatible plugs, sockets, or converters, Blick does not ship electrical items or accessories outside of North America or to freight forwarders.
