This easy-to-program glass kiln features top and side element coils that provide even heat. It fires glass evenly and allows for pieces to heat at a uniform rate. The tall firing chamber allows for tall slumping and drop mold projects. Maximum firing temperature is Cone 07 (1800°F, 1000°C). This kiln does not require venting. The kiln is equipped with the Glass Select Fire controller, which can be programmed in Fahrenheit or Centigrade. It's easy to program, providing accurate and stable temperatures for small projects and the precision and versatility required for complicated firing projects. You can even change the program after it has started in order to better suit your needs. Features of this controller include an easy to read LED display and a menu that allows access to advanced programming features. Exterior dimensions are 28" H × 50½" W × 33" D (71 cm × 128 cm × 84 cm). A steel bar secures the lid of the kiln during loading and unloading. The firing chamber is 13½" H × 41½" W × 24½" D (34 cm × 105 cm × 62 cm). An 8" (20 cm) stand is included. UL listed. Kiln weighs 280 lb (127 kg). Shipping weight is 305 lb (138 kg) EZ-Lift Kit — This kit includes a spring-assisted hinge, to facilitate fingertip-lifting of the kiln lid. Furniture Kit — This kit includes ten 1" × 1" × 5" shelf supports, one 18" × 22" × 5/8" rectangular shelf, two 21" × 10-1/2" × 5/8" half-round shelves, and one carton Kiln Wash. Three Phase Kilns — Three Phase electric power is available in many industrial and institutional buildings, usually with 208V power. Most facilities with Three Phase power also have separate circuits for Single Phase power. Single Phase electric power is the standard alternating current (60 hz) that is available in all homes and offices in North America, usually with 240V power. A single phase kiln can run using Three Phase power with additional equipment and wiring. Where Three Phase power is available, most high amperage circuits (that might be used to run a kiln) will be Three Phase circuits. Although electric motors such as ventilation fans run more efficiently (require fewer watts) on a Three Phase circuit, kiln heating elements do not. However, it is possible to run a Three Phase kiln using a smaller (lower amperage) circuit than would be required for a comparable Single Phase kiln, if power capacity (amperage) is an issue. Three Phase kilns will not run on Single Phase power.
