The newly redesigned IE features a 1/4 HP, 6 amp motor to continuously handle up to 75 lbs (34 kg) of clay and a 12" (30 cm) cast and machined wheel head with removable bat pins. The sturdy wheel stands 13" (33 cm) high for tabletop use and ease of storage — or insert the adjustable legs to raise the height of the wheel head from 20"–25" (51 cm–64 cm) for floor use.

New to the IE is an indestructible tabletop made of a bio-composite material that combines 100% reclaimed organic fiber with 100% recycled thermoplastic. The organic fiber is a natural by-product of the forestry industry, which means no new wood was used in the IE's manufacture. The tabletop is moisture-resistant and corrosion-proof.

Other features include an optional reversing switch that offers a neutral "safety" position to assure smooth transitions when changing direction, allowing the wheel head to spin freely in both directions as a banding/decorating wheel. A permanent magnet DC motor provides dependable variable speed control, while a self-tensioning four-groove poly-v drive belt holds tight for maximum performance.
