This off-white plastic clay is formulated to be versatile and strong. Ideally suited for throwing and all types of hand-building, Amaco White Stoneware Clay has great green strength and fires equally strong.
This is an excellent clay body for use with almost any glaze, and is particularly nice for showing off transparent and translucent glazes. Its low iron content helps prevent glaze interactions.
Bisque fire to Cone 04 (1971°F, 1077°C). At the recommended glaze firing of Cone 5 (2205°F), shrinkage is 11.2% and absorption is 7.03%. At an alternate firing temperature of Cone 10 (2381°F), shrinkage is 12.9% and absorption is 1.6%.
A 50 lb carton consists of two 25 lb bricks, each in a poly storage bag, so any amount can be used as required and the rest stored for future use.
Note — This clay is AP non-toxic when moist.
Note — Any combination of clay, plaster, sand, and molding material totaling 50 lbs or more does not qualify for our free shipping offer.

Comments about Amaco 11-M A-Mix White Stoneware Moist Clay:
I've been working with Standard Clay buff stoneware but needed to switch clay bodies for some glazes. Love the texture of this clay, porcelain like but a bit more durable. My only issue has been making handles my cups are drying too fast and my handles are drying too slow. When they do dry I get serious cracking, so have to try and find fix for that, other than that, love the clay. The packaging was pretty terrible, I think it should be double boxed considering the weight and all the handling it goes through. My box was ripped pretty bad and exposed a good majority of the clay.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I throw quick and thin and I love this clay. This clay is prefect for those who want a white grogless clay without the pain of porcelain. It's sturdy enough for bigger items but has the versatility to also be used for small pieces. It fires white at cone 04 bisque, and has a nice white lumosity under cone 6 clear glaze. I I use it for my own personal pieces and to teach clients because it's soft on new hands. While this is a versatile clay, it can be finicky if you throw wet and slow or are working on a large project. To compensate the size issue, create a larger base to trim off later. Easy enough
