Alvin's Brass Bullet Pencil Sharpener is the perfect accessory for taking on a day-long sketching trip. It's one of the tiniest and most compact pencil sharpeners ever made, yet it's one of the sturdiest.
It features solid brass bullet-shaped construction with a replaceable stainless steel cutting blade. The blade can be removed and sharpened in a knife sharpener.

Comments about Alvin Brass Bullet Pencil Sharpener:
Compared to the cheap things that come with drawing sets these are great. The blades are much sharper and replaceable. I have severe arthritis and this is much easier to turn. Less likely to break the pencil core too.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

You wouldn't think weight would matter in a simple pencil sharpener, but it does. Skip the plastic models and go for brass. Fits the hand well and gives a sharp point.

I absolutely LOVE this little sharpener! Been looking for something that does coloured pencils without chewing them up and this certainly does a great job of not doing that. Doesn't do as good a job on my Staedtler graphite pencils but that's not why I got it. Would highly recommend for those using coloured pencils.

Well worth the money!

You pay for what you get. This is the best sharpener I've ever used. I read the reviews and am so happy I ordered this item. It sharpens regular drawing pencils easily and charcoal pencils like a dream. The size is handy because I can take it anywhere. I also bought extra blades so I am ready when I have gone sharpening crazy and dull the original; that will take awhile!

Compact and Efficient Sharpener

I am using this sharpener to sharpen Prismacolor pencils. I love the pencils, but my only issue with them is also what makes them so great - they have a soft core of color that can easily break using most sharpeners I have tried. The key with this one seems to be to hold and spin the sharpener itself around the pencil, not to spin the pencil in the sharpener. It seems to be easy on the color core, and puts a perfect point to the pencil. I also like the fact that when the blade becomes dull I can switch it out with a new one without having to go on a search for a new sharpener. While it is compact and I like that, I can see where it might be easy to misplace, especially if the surface you are working on looks like the top of my desk - a bit cluttered! I would buy this sharpener again *if* I ever do lose it, and I recommend it.

This is the only sharpener you'll ever need. More importantly, it's the only one you'll ever want. It sharpens pretty much perfectly every time, and the blades are easy to change out. I can't imagine ever using anything else. Honestly.
