This all-purpose chipboard is used as a "work-surface" by all artists using my studio. It not only keeps the counters and tables from getting arcylics, glue, etc. on them, but keeps the projects from getting other artists' paint, paste, etc. on them. One piece will last a long time (up to a year!) and they are easy to store. When a board gets really cruddy-looking and starts to curl, it is used for messier projects outdoors.

I ordered this as a cheaper alternative to mounting board and presumed that matching the weight of mounting board would give me a similar product, but this material is much more flimsy than mounting board of the same weight. Next time I'll try the double weight.

I purchased this chipboard for art projects recently. I wish that I would have ordered the thicker stuff now, but this is a very good product. Pricewise, a really good deal. I'm not disappointed in the product at all.

We started out with a 3D art project found here on Blick - cannot remember the name, but it uses wood blocks and other wooden shapes to build up a 3D painting. It worked quite well, although it did bend slightly, this was expected, however.

I also did some experimental work during my free time. I painted the entire surface of a cut piece (about 12x14) with acrylic paint, then dripped small drops of paint onto the surface creating a space like painting. Again it bent slightly, but like I said this was expected.

I also tried the same technique above, but laid over some tracing paper for a marbling effect. Looked allot like flowers in field with the way the tracing paper crinkled up.

Great for many projects! Experiment to see what you can come up with.

I use this chipboard for prototyping board games. The cardboard is about 80% of the thickness of the highest-quality German games like Carcassonne. It takes about three good runs with a hobby knife to cut through with a clean edge.
