Welcome to dickblick
An economical, portable press designed for light pressure printing processes such as monotype, drypoint and collagraph, the Akua Pin Press features a 20" (51 cm) long roller for printing 20" (51 cm) wide images in any studio, classroom, or home.
This press is precisely machined to an incredibly even, smooth surface for uniform contact between the roller, paper, and plate. Durable, all-metal construction (aluminum with brass bushings) ensures long-lasting, trouble-free printing.
The Akua Pin Press features crescent-shaped handles that swivel and act as a stand when the press is not in use. This prevents the press from rolling off the table and allows it to be laid down without the roller touching the table.
™ Akua is a trademark.

Great for Printmaking
from Myrtle Beach, SC
Comments about Akua Pin Press:
This just what I needed. I have a printing press but am limited on the size of plate I can use. This Print Roller allows me to use larger plates for my etchings. Works very well and is easy to use. Great purchase!

Brilliant idea- high quality, well built, great performance
from Dublin OH
I use it to teach printmaking classes off-site where I can't take my traditional press. The Pin Press fits in a yoga mat bag easily and travels well. Smaller traditional presses cost twice as much and don't travel well in my opinion. I find the print quality with the Pin Press is great. I have 2 and use them with the Akua inks and mediums.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

AKUA Pin press works well
from Muscatine, IA
I've used this to make a few prints from both copper and plexiglass intaglio plates. I used AKUA water soluble ink on moistened BFK paper, though the directions listed other smooth papers. The AKUA pin press worked surprisingly well to produce prints with very clear, distinct lines. Glad I bought it.

A beautiful tool and fun to use
from Salem, Or
After watching most of the available videos and reading numerous articles, I decided to experiment with printmaking. The first few efforts were ok but not the greatest - spoons, barens and kitchen rolling pins didn't cut it. The Akua pinpress isn't inexpensive, but it is cheaper than buying a small press, especially if printmaking isn't going to be your life's work. The difference in the quality of the prints was well worth the price to me. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums and have always found that having the right tools for the job makes all the difference. The pinpress is one of those necessary tools for hand printing mono prints and drypoint. It's easy to use and fits my needs very well, plus it takes very little room to store when I move on to other mediums.

This is a fabulous new tool in the printmaking world and for a one person studio doing monoprints and etchings, it is an ideal addition to my arsenal of tools.
