This tabletop easel is very nice, you don't have to stand up to do your work. It was purchased for an 11 year old who is serious about her work in pastels. She's gonna love it!!!

I've bought this easel to draw and paint on my kitchen table as I have limited space in my apt.

The board in the center is foam-core and is too light to give a solid feeling when drawing with pencils and pastels on the paper directly taped on it. You could tape the paper on a larger and heavier support and rest it on the easel, but it would defy the purpose.

When painting with canvas, stretched or mounted, it works well only if the artwork is not exceeding the height of the easel, even minimally, or you have stability issues. Small canvases don't work as well as they fall between the two metal flanges intended as supports, which by the way have sharp edges and corners that can scratch the table the easel rest upon. And at last the handle hole is in a bothersome position and is actually futile as you can easily carry the easel from the frame, when folded.

Good idea, badly built, overpriced.
