The instructions for putting this together were atrocious. They were blurry and hard to read, as well as being in a very unhelpful order. I had trouble figuring out which pieces were which, and I had to take it apart a several times and put it together in a fashion that made sense once I knew what I was doing. I practically had to figure it out myself, and it was not pleasant. Otherwise a good product so far.

This easel is just what I was looking for as a beginning artist. It is fairly simple for one person to assemble, sturdy and attractive. It folds for easy storage. The directions were poorly printed and not the clearest to read.

My easel came with an incorrect piece that attaches the paint brush holder to the spine of the easel making it so that the holder isn't flush to the spine. It still holds together so I don't think it's a big deal, but it's still the wrong piece. Also, one of the bases had a hole drilled through it and because the area is so small, the hole caused one side to break. Again, something that I can deal with, but still broken. It does seem pretty sturdy.

The instructions were a little difficult to follow to assemble; but the easle is sturdy, good size and arrived in a timely manner. I am happy with it.

I have the exact same easel at home (this one is for my studio in another city) and bought it used for [$]! This one cost less, is brand new, it's very strong and adjustable and holds big canvases without taking up too much storage space. My only complaint and it's very minor, is the rather elaborate process of assembling all the parts. But it is ingeniously made and once you've mastered all those brass bolts and fixtures you have a very nice easel.

I got a deal on this b/c Blick was having a huge sale, but that only makes the value average. It actually looks nice and could be great, but to agree with the first reviewer, the directions are ridiculous and the U-shape piece is not the correct size. I thought it was just mine, but it's really frustrating. Mine is also loose fitting and although it pseudo-works, you'd think they could get the sizes right for how much it costs.

It's truly a great easel! It has an adjustable tray which I really wanted, and it is really sturdy.There are a few things I don't like though: (a) the directions were ridiculous and I had to figure out how to put it together myself. It took me an hour or so but I finally figured it out! (b) there is a place where I'm not sure if it's fitting correctly, where this u-shaped piece and the tray fit together isn't fully secure. The screws won't go all the way in. I don't know what to do about that but I'll have to leave it as is unless something goes wrong.Other than thoes two concerns, I would still recommend it! I got it for a really good price[$] and it looks really nice too.
