Welcome to dickblick
A friend for life, this handmade stainless steel figure stands on his own two feet, or sits comfortably on a desk, shelf, table or stand.
Adam the Doodles Man is made of stainless steel wire connected at the joints with aluminum rivets. His ingenious joints and limbs are fully adjustable, allowing him to strike almost any pose, even more than his human counterparts!
An ideal drawing partner in the studio, classroom, or in the field, Adam never rusts, never rests, never eats, never complains, and never sleeps (unless you want him to).
Adam the Doodles Man measures 12" high.

Comments about Adam the Doodles Man:
I love the whole Doodles family -- Adam, Eve and Rover. They can be posed in ways that are perfect for the type of sculptural art I produce. The price here was 1/3 of what I could find at local stores.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I like Adam!
By Arty Al

I confess I have added Adam to my Cabinet of Curiousities rather than use him as a drawing model. However, he is beautifully constructed and would be excellent to draw, either as he is or as a base for a human. As other reviewers have noted, you may have problems keeping him in position, but a little thought and creativity will overcome this issue.
Quite simply, the very best Mannequin
By Foreign Purchaser
The amount of movements and positions this mannequin can be put into is pretty much limited only by your imagination. The multiple joints in each position come as close to mimicking the human body as any models do, even those several times its' price. Also, it is made out of stainless steel and much more durable than plastic mannequins. There is a weak point:unlike wooden mannequins which are dependent on a stand, this mannequin is dependent on being balanced on its' feet. this can be easily remedied by making a stand. However I would warn all overseas buyers that Dick Blick's international shipment department is inefficient, slow and seems to show little regard for getting the customer's name right. Blick takes two to three weeks to ship. Their competitors, for similar items, a day or two.
Great fun for adults and children.
The price was a bit stiff as I needed 14 units and had to go two web sites to get the amount I needed. It was well worth it as all had a great time with itPricing from one dealer to another was $1.00 difference. We gave it as gifts fro a party we had.Originally saw the product at Nordstroms and went on line to se if the cost would be better. It wasn't

The Best Mannikan/Armature!
from reston va
I have purchased a half dozen of these so far. I use them for multiple figure drawings: they are more flexible than the human body, have near classic proportions, are lightweight and easy to bend, and are ez to tape together for multiple body pieces. Also, can be used with oven fire clays as an armature: just add the clay and the armature is ez to adjust the limb positions to get the pose just right

Adam is great!
Adam is extremely posable and lots of fun to work with! He works hard for extended hours, sitting on top of objects or lying down on my desk in virtually any pose asked of him... without loosing his realism. He is very inspirational and makes working off the manekin very enjoyable. Good conversation starter too!Awesome joints and all round fabulous design. I might try covering him in poly clay to give him a solid form, just for a change.Highly, highly recomended over other manekins.

I was looking for a poseable manikin because my wooden one was has very limited mobility. Adam by far is the most poseable manikin and unique in that he resembles what most rough sketches look like when you start to build the body masses. This has helped me considerably to draw difficult poses. the only drawback is that he lacks something to hold him in place but other than that he is great for comic artists because of the unlimited ways he can be posed.
