Molded, sculpted, stamped or carved, La Doll is the clay of choice for doll artists worldwide.
The perfect air-dry clay for fine detail work, La Doll contains highly refined pumice, talc, and small amounts of paper pulp and binders, resulting in an extremely pliable clay that can be worked with indefinitely if kept moist.
La Doll adheres to wire mesh, Rigid-Wrap, paper, glass, plastic, wood, and Styrofoam, and accepts acrylic, oil paints, water-based paints, and dry finishing powders. Dissolve it in water to use as a finish coat — or soak it with paper and cloth to be formed into shapes. It can also be carved, drilled, or sanded when dry.
La Doll air-dries with minimal shrinkage.

La Doll saved my lamp
from Chicago, Il
Comments about Activa La Doll Satin Smooth Air-Dry Clay:
Let me say at the outset that I am not a person knowledgeable in doll crafts. However, inexperienced as I am working with La Doll, I found this product to be great for patching and mending. A lamp shipped to me came with a severely smashed corner on its marble base. After a month long dispute with the shipper, I decided to just try and mend it. I could not find a suitable product at the home improvement store, so I turned to Blick's, hoping a clay existed that was malleable, dried without a kiln, and could be painted. Viola! I luckily found La Doll. Wow, in about 15 minutes I had the corner patched, complete with decorative grooving. Another 5, and I had it painted. I thought it looked great. The real test came when my daughter, knowing there had been damage, mistakenly pointed to the corner opposite the damaged one and assured me it was a good repair job. I am really fortunate to have found La Doll, and very highly recommend this pliable, easy-to-use product. Blick's just carries the best products, hands down.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is my first experience with this product.
This product was selected due to its low shrinkage properties, air dry characteristics, ability to add wet clay to dry, and paintability. My main reserve with this product is its durability, which I will only be able to determine with time.

La Doll Satin Air Dry Clay
I sculpt mainly Halloween Decor / Dolls with this clay and absolutely love it. Very smooth and reconstitutes well and very strong/durable after drying.Still get a few cracks after drying the first layer but not as bad as some. I just have to make my layers thin enough to avoid that.

I use this on most of my Halloween Sculptures. It's great stuff - smooths out great and just love it.Wish it were stronger, but I just use a resin clay for those areas. THANKS DICK BLICK for superb, FRESH, clay, service and shipping!
Great for beginner to intermediate

Worked well for what I needed it for, as I'm just getting back into sculpting. Was a little rough at first but once the clay was worked properly with some water, it was perfect - makes for a nice, smooth finish easily!

I did not like this product I found it very messy and hard to workWith maybe because I was a beginner using the item. I made aCouple of things and they came out smooth and the clay was prettyForgiving, but I prefer oven bake rather than air dry.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Didn't Do It For Me...
from LA, CA
I bought it to repair a crack on polymer sculpture but it didn't work . The clay is so lightweight and it does seem to adhere to the surface but it comes off easily if you handle it a little too hard. The texture reminds me of a mixture of paper dust and water-it's very lightweight and brittle when dry. I tried to use it instead of polymer but it starts to get stiff fast so there is not much time if your project needs more detailing.

Love this stuff!
from Phoenix, AZ
I am usually a polymer clay artist, however due to a recent request for a large doll, I bought some air dry clay. I am in love! It's so easy to use and I can easily sand away my mistakes. It's lightweight and had fun texture. I find it dries out VERY quickly (though I live in Phoenix), so I always have a big bowl of water on hand. I don't know if I'll ever go back to polymer! (Okay.. I will, but don't tell the air dry clay this.)

Used it 10 years ago and loved it
By Mary by the shore

I used this product years ago as the top coat over resin castings and the finish was smooth, it could be sanded without raising a "grain" and painted beautifully. This time I needed a product to create the positives for making a silicone mold and the ability to carve and sand and still get a smooth finish is important and the reason for using this product.
