Depending on the printmaking technique, Gamblin Inks may need to be adjusted slightly with a modifier in order to print perfectly. Temperature, humidity, the type of plate, and the type of paper all affect how inks perform. Magnesium Carbonate — Magnesium Carbonate is traditionally used to stiffen inks and reduce their gloss level. It works well with both Gamblin Etching Inks and Gamblin Artist's Colors Relief Inks. Once combined, it becomes transparent and will not alter the color of the ink. Only a small amount is needed to increase body, so add it sparingly and mix well. |
