Why should watercolor painting be limited to paper? Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground enables you to use watercolors on canvas, other fabrics, wood, plaster, and hardboard, and even metal, plastic, and glass. Brush it on and let it dry to create an ideal, absorbent surface on virtually any material.

Iridescent Gold Watercolor Ground —

This ground creates a luminous gold paintable area when applied to a white surface. And because it's semi-transparent, the ground allows the color and/or pattern of the surface it's applied onto to show slightly through the iridescent gold sheen. Transparent and semi-transparent watercolors will add a glaze of color when painted over this ground, modifying their color. Add the ground to your entire surface or only in areas where you want to add iridescent gold effects. For deepest gold, apply two to three thin coats.
