Enkaustikos offers a variety of waxes and other additives useful for encaustic painters, as well as artists working in other media. Luster Wax — Luster Wax is whiter, clearer, and can be used as an alternative to Carnauba Wax. It is a high quality, synthetic wax derived from coal. Luster Wax is not petroleum based and melts at 205° F (96° C). Add only a small amount of this wax to encaustic paint because the high melting temperature may cause the paint to burn. Luster Wax is sold in small granules that are easy to melt. |
