Claybord's ultra-smooth finish, rigid hardboard back, and the absorbency of the kaolin clay make it an exceptional surface for pencil, ink, acrylic, gouache, egg tempera, casein, and multimedia.

Fully primed with acrylic gesso and ready to paint, Gessobord is sanded to a fine tooth finish that provides excellent adhesion for oil and acrylic paints. Available in three styles: 1/8", 3/4" cradled, and 2" deep cradled.

Hardbord is stronger than Masonite, but with no acids or chemicals to discolor paints. Ampersand Panels are meticulously handcrafted by master carpenters, for a superior, 1/8" thick, archival-quality board.
