Sumi Painting - Sumi Inks and Accessories

Formulated for sumi painting and calligraphy, this sumi ink is in convenient liquid form. This is permanent, black ink made from quality vegetable oil soot, formulated especially for sumi painting and calligraphy.

Dip an end in the water well of a suzuri and rub over its level surface. Carbon particles fall off and dissolve in the water to produce ink. Made from powdered carbon of burnt pine or lamp black and a binding agent.

For grinding sumi sticks. Man-made ink stone with a flat surface and well to hold water.
